Submission Protocol and Exhibition Opportunities

 

Exhibiting your art at Castelli Art Space insures several things – great exposure to a wide array of art enthusiasts, inclusion in our monthly newsletter/calendar which goes out to over 4000 people, various social media postings, announcement on our website, and sales coverage and assistance during gallery hours. Our curated exhibits also may include posting on Artsy - details vary by show.

 

We take pride in our programming, and in all instances your work must be approved by the Gallery Director/Curator, whether for rental or for curated exhibitions. Please follow our submission protocol to be considered. There is no cost to submit your work. Due to the high number of submissions we request you allow 2-3 weeks for a response; additional follow-up on your part is not required.

 

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES (for all exhibition opportunities) :

Please submit the following via email to Dale@CastelliArtSpace.com

 

  • Include 6-10 jpegs of recent available work, labeled with your Name_Title of Work.

  • Image Format: JPG or PNG image files with a minimum of 1000x1000 pixels and less than 30 mb

  • Include a price list of thumbnails with that same information, plus size, pricing, medium and year of completion.

  • A current bio, artist statement, and CV, OR a link to your website if that information is posted.

  • A message outlining your desired outcome; If rental, must include requested dates/theme/title of show. Or, please state if submitting for curated or group show at the Curator’s discretion.

 

Exhibition Opportunities for Pop-Up Shows ( rental ) :

 

Option #1 – Full rental for one week for $4000 for space only, plus incidental costs as below. Client handles all sales and retains 100% of commissions, although gallery will be staffed at no additional cost and can handle sales should the client be off-premises. Client must provide proof of insurance.

 

Option #2 – Full rental for one week for $2500 plus incidental costs as below, with commission split Client 75%, Castelli 25%, dependent upon acceptance by Curator. This option available for solo or group shows, with curatorial assistance if desired.  Castelli staff handles all sales and will provide full accounting with receipts to client at end of event. Full payment to client within 5 business days following close of show.

 

In above options a non-refundable security deposit of $1000 is required to hold the confirmed date upon signing of agreement. (Balance must be paid before the show opens. )

Incidental costs for all paying exhibitors include security, insurance (your own), and repair of gallery.

  • One security guard - $120

  • Patch/Repainting of gallery (if required, TBD at end of exhibit) - $200

 

Additional costs may include installation and tear-down of exhibit if not handled by artist, and cleaning of premises if required. (Those costs vary.)

 

Exhibit Opportunities for Inclusion in Curated/Group Exhibits (produced in-house) :

 

Inclusion and number of works to be exhibited as well as date and theme of exhibit are at the sole discretion of the Castelli Curator. No rental fee is incurred, sales are split 50% Artist,  50% Castelli. Castelli handles all sales and will provide full accounting and receipts to client at end of event, with payment five days following close of show.
